Cat Allergies Treatment

I am allergic to cats

I keep hearing of this in the US but no doctor I ask about offers this here in Canada. There must be someone who knows something in Canada? thanks.

I’m allergic to pet hair, and I wear contacts. My eyes itch really bad around cats and over-the-counter Claritin doesn’t help. Any suggestions? Any eye drops?

If I were to get a cat, how long would it take for me to stop getting allergic reactions? (assuming that what another Y! answerer is correct about immunity being developed)

I get allergic reactions when I touch a cat, but not when I touch its shedded fur on furniture etc.

If shots and meds are the only options, how safe are they and what can they cost? Sounds like you have to take them frequently.

my sister is 8 and she’s deathly allergic to cats… So i’m wondering if an 8 year old little girl can take allergy pills, for cat allergies… we’re pet sitting a tuxedo cat and are they slightly easier with allergies or harder? I know this seems like a very stupid question to ask, but i’m lazy… So very sorry please please please help and answer this question! thank you!

I head that if you give 1 vitamin tab a day it will alleviate cat allergies.
Trouble is..did he mean me or the cat? AND does i work???

p.s. We want a cat but we have slight, not major allergies.

I have allergies towards cats, and i am going to work at the ASPCA, and i want to know if there is any medicine i can take to help with my cat allergies. It can be over the counter or by perscription. I just want some ideas. Thanks.
I have asthma and i use my medicine for that. But i just want soemthing to stop my watery eyes and difficulty breathing and runny nose.

I have been allergic to cats all my life. I also have other allergies. Every allergy medication i have tried works for all of my allegies except for the cat allergy. Every weekend i am over my boyfriend’s house and i suffer from the moment i walk in the door. I have been on every prescription allergy pill you can think of. Right now i am on Clartin D and it works great for every other allergy. I wish it worked on the cat allergy!! If someone can recommend something that might help i would appreciate it.
