Cat Allergies Treatment

If you were around it cat, it is possible for it to get that bad and turn in to pneumonia?

My cat has been sneezing all day, poor guy. Is it possible that he’s got allergies? And yes– I have taken him to the vet about this (probably a year ago) but the vet didn’t think there was anything wrong with him. My cat stopped with the sneezing fits shortly after seeing the vet, but now he’s doing it again. Any ideas what it might be?
Thanks for the help. He’s strictly and indoor cat, and he’s been sickly his entire life, so I watch him like a hawk. Cowgirl– I didn’t even think about the dust from all my packing! I do have an indoor air purifier– I’ll turn it on ‘high’ to see if that helps him!

If you were allergic to cats and had one, is it possible that you could get pneumoina form that?

I grew up with 5 cats and never had allergy symptoms until I went away to college and came back and developed some rashes. After a few days , they disappeared. Now (at 33) I just got 2 new kittens and my allergies are real bad (runny nose, sneezing, eyes, etc.). Is it possible that with time, my allergies will go away or is this permanent? Hoping not the latter, but may be a reality that I need to face. I’ll prb. head to an allergist butr looking to see if anyone had firsthand experience about this? Thanks for your help! Doug

We’ve had the cat for 6 days. My husband sneezes and sniffles by the end of the night but usually only if he touches the cat.
We keep her out of the bedoom. I brush her everyday. We don’t have carpet. I’m vacumning every 3rd day. I’m using this allerpet solution on her (supposed to reduce dander). Is there anything else I can do, and is it ever possible for someone whose allergic to have NO allergy symptoms?

I have been allergic to cats and horses for the past 5 years, or so. I used to own a cat, and I also used to horse back ride regularly. I have always LOVED animals, and this is very heartbreaking to me. I want to pursue my career as a Veterinary Technician, and this is really holding me back. It is also eliminating living opportunities. If anyone knows of how I can at least relieve my allergies enough to work with and around cats, I would really appreciate it. Most of all, I want to know if there are ways to eliminate the allergies.
