how much human benadryl do i give my cat for eye allergies?

my cat got outside and was out all night now her eyes are all runny and swolen… think she got into something she is allergic to?

no no no! she has to go to the vet. it is much more likely that something scratched her eye(s), or she developed an infection (cats can start to show signs of eye infections out of nowhere!).
NO benadryl without consulting a vet. you can harm her!

you don’t give the cat ANY human meds! she needs to go to the vet and they will give her something that she can take. there is a chance, if you give the cat any type of human meds she will die.

My vet told me to give my cat a half a child’s dose of Benadryl for his allergies. You should consult your vet first because he might have a reason for not wanting your cat to have it. I use Temeril for my cat’s sneezing and have eye salve for his eyes. I also run an air purifier for him. That helps alot. There could be infection which would need antibiotics instead of allergy meds so off to the vet you go.

You need to take your cat to the vet,To see what they can prescribe for it. It’s a very bad idea to give your cat human medicine.
