I have several flights booked on Southwest in the upcoming months, and now I hear they are going to permit animals on the aircraft. I was wondering how this affects other people like me.

You can call the airline peoples..

But really, I’ve never had an problems with my allergies on a plane, just need to ask them about tree nuts a lot..
Also, bring medicine if you can.

Yes. I have a real problem with allergies. I am sensitive to the dander that people carry with them on their clothing after hugging their pets good bye. I am not sure if the dander will travel up from where the pets are kept. surely, you don’t mean they will allow them in the cabin! Take your medicine before hand. If you don’t have a prescription, try claritin, or better yet, ask the pharmacist what would work best for your specific situation.

I work on the cabin crew at Southwest, and most of the other flight attendants I have spoken with are not pleased about this.

This is mroe work for us, and I anticipate big problems with people disobeying the rule for keeping pets in their carriers.

I am also highly allergic to cat dander, and I have no intention of medicating myself everyday that I work in the hopes that the allergic reaction will not be that bad.

First time, I am short of breath, iI am going to visit the nearest ER. Since it is work related Southwest can pay for it. if it happens in a city with a crew base, they won’t have any trouble replacing me. if it happens in someplace out of the way like Amarillo or Spokane, they can ground the whole flight until they can fly in a replacement F/A.
