Cat Allergies Treatment

For anyone who has cat allergies and have tried Zyrtec or can suggest something that works better to relieve the symtoms.

I used to have a cat and she died, then I became severly allergic, I’d like to have a cat again and will get as many shots as needed but will it all be in vain?

I have heard that bengal cats emit less allergens, etc then standard cats, but am not sure. Is there any way to test for this?

we have decided we want to get our kids a kitten, but our husband is somewhat allergic. what are the best ways to keep my husbands allergies at bay or at least reduce them once we get kitten.

I’m allergic to pet hair, and I wear contacts. My eyes itch really bad around cats and over-the-counter Claritin doesn’t help. Any suggestions? Any eye drops?

I have recently been experiencing some lung problems and am not sure the case. It feels similar to what happens to me when exposed to cats, although I have not been. Basically, deep breaths are uncomfortable with slight wheezing but I am not having the red eye reactions. It does not seem like a sickness as I have had it come and go twice now. Any clues?

I am going to my best friend’s house today for a sleepover, which we have planned for many weeks now. Problem is, we live in a house with three indoor cats, and my my friend is allergic. I can only imagine how irritating it is, and I don’t want to cause too much trouble for her, especially since I’ll be there for three days instead of the usual hour or so.

My question is, what causes the allergic reaction, and what can I do to get rid of the offensive material (i.e. fur, dander, whatever causes the problem)? I don’t think lint rollers do the trick, and I want my friend to be as happy and healthy as possible on this and future visits.

I am allergic to cats and almost all of my freinds have cats. When I am at somones house who has cats my chest gets all tight, my nose gets itchy and my eyes get itchy. Is there anyway to help or even cure these symptoms. I already take benedral and I already have an inhaler.

I am a cat lover, but my boyfriend is allergic…i read that Siberians are less likely to cause allergies…does anyone with cat allergies own a Siberian and if so, how bad are your allergies with the cat?

By best I mean the strongest. And I don’t need an explanation for what I’m allergic to. I know already.
